I'll tell you that the most difficult thing in learning any language is learning to actually
think in that language. That's what makes you able to speak the language with native proficiency.
I do not know Spanish, but I assume that sentences are structured slightly differently, and if that's the case it can be difficult to think in Spanish and write in English. I suppose that might be the root cause of the small issues, but the more you use and polish your English, the less those things will "creep up" on you.
It's funny, one way that I can spot people who use the language perfectly some people but didn't grow up speaking English natively is by how they handle references to certain obscure cultural references, children's cartoons, jokes or such.
