then why is he so hated?
I think he's a decent guy. Others may find him to be condescending, closed minded, and something of a braggart. Also, the self righteous claims of Christianity yet demonstrating a non adherence to Christian principles, i.e. insulting people, lack of compassion, pride, lust...then, like most Christians, will turn around and say "I'm a sinner, not perfect, work in progress, etc." Again, personally speaking, he's an alright guy. I've grown up around his type all my life.
