One Rep Max Calculator

I can bench 185 for 15 reps fairly easily, so according to the one rep max calculator I should be able to bench 300 for 1 rep. 

There's no fucking way...  :-\

Calculators are a load of shit. Its always individual. Some people may do 10+  reps at 90 percent of their 1rm. I have to drop down to about 50-60% of 1rm to get 10+ decent reps.
Dependent on fibre makeup ect

just so happened it was chest day... my final set of flat I hit 225 for 18, according to the calc I should hit 427. I doubt i'd hit 427 at my present bw even on decline.

for shitts and giggles...

I close gripped 100 for 30 on my last set of tri's last Thursday, according the the calc, that puts my 1rm at 516. lol

its the same for me withhigher reps especially legs. Would struggle mightly to squat 20 reps with around 30% .
I rarely do sets above 5 reps, after that it goes to shit.

Similar for me, I can do quite high reps with a poundage then just go a bit higher and feel like its going to tear something.

I used to be able to DB press 140s for 12-15 reps ( a looooonnnng time ago) but the 150s always seemed way too heavy.

i must be a genetic freak then as I can only get 1 rep with 60kg but do 500kg for 50

I have found it to be pretty close up to 5 reps on bench, after that it gets pretty shaky
Way off though if applied to squats after 5 reps

thats alot of reps on 140lbs good work

i sometimes think if mentally you perceive the weight to be too much you are fucked

Maybe so, its just I used to get down with them and as soon as I started coming down with the weight the pec tie ins started screaming, it wasnt worth the risk.

One issue especially on flat bench is how much energy you expend on the eccentric/down part of the lift. As i get heavier i slow down even more.

According the that calculator, I should have been able to Front Press 261 pounds for one rep. I highly doubt that, but who knows...
