Ever want to reinvent yourself

Was rewatching arnolds total rebuild and it got me thinking about the idea of reinvention. You know stuff like changing your diet, my day to day routine, even my belief system(hedonistic to more stoic), changing the way you dress, how you exercise(side sports) etc. I've just moved to a new city, got my weight down from 280 to 245, quit drinking, overcame some serious rotator cuff issues, and want to keep my momentum going. So I ask have you ever had a time to reinvent yourself.

You are beyond reinvent You need to jump off a bridge and pray that reincarnation exists.

Several times, usually every 7-8 years. Seven year itch... :)

Usually I want to get rid of baggage that I have picked up during the last few years. You get stuck in a rut it you keep doing the same things, talk to the same people, etc. So then I just cut loose. Change jobs, change friends, change social life, change sports (sort of), change fundamental behaviour even. I've gone from straightedge to full-on drugs and booze and back to straightedge(ish) again. Hardworking to lazy to ambitious to lazy to ambitious to ...

Very liberating feeling, knowing you can just cut all ties at the drop of a hat and miss nothing.

Yeah well I'm out of the rut I just wanna keep a good thing going. I'm getting back in shape after years of set backs. I've had rather severe shoulder problems, ankle problems etc. I'm finally getting around them and I want to keep the momentum going. I'm gonna be out of school for atleast 12 months, so I wanna spend this time working on my daily routine. I'm also trying to get into philosophy more as I find that shit more important than religion or anything else.
