Haha wtf. It was just some cheesy dance moves and a couple of pushups. Loved when they did the pushups and the crowd started to scream like they did something really amazing haha

My mom was a serious weight lifter and fitness fanatic....still is actually so I watched a lot of the competitions on TV growing up.  Alan Thicke MC'ed the shows

Yea....they created the events to promote gyms and aerobics classes at the time.  If you were a decent aerobics instructor, you could rack up a shitload of money back in the day.  Doing the contests was an easy way to get national exposure and free advertising for your club.
