after they got into a fender bender at the gas station, and she claimed "stand your ground"?  Anyone remember this?  There was a post on here about it a few months back, after the Zimmerman verdict, but I can't find it.  Any of you gentleman know anything about this crime?

He pounded on the window and she shot him dead. She cited stand-your-ground as her justification. I'm pretty sure she was charged immediately. Authorities didn't charge 23-year-old Crystal Scott immediately after the shooting death last year of Jonathan Ables, but Harris County grand jurors apparently concluded there were still enough unanswered questions for the case to go to trial.

Scott told authorities she shot Ables on Sept. 17 after both drivers had pulled their vehicles into a Shell station on FM 1960 near Perry.

Scott said the 22-year-old Ables began screaming profanities at her, then struck the car and tried to open her door. Scott said she was in fear for her life when she pulled the trigger, fatally striking Ables.

"An eyewitness, who appeared on camera but has requested anonymity, said that he did not hear any threat in the seconds before Scott killed Ables.  The witness was pumping gas and standing 15 feet away from Ables when a bullet ricocheted past him and struck his car. The bullet left a noticeable impression on the witness’s car.
 
As for Scott’s version of events, the witness said that if Ables had shouted or banged on the car, he would have heard it. “What drew my attention was the gunshot,” said the witness.  “I just want to be sure that I do everything in my power that everything is fair. I care about it being fair,” he said."
