best he ever showed with a barbel was 495 for a few bounced half-reps. so i'd say he was in the 600 area which is in NO WAY unimpressive.

So dude does a few shit reps with 495 and you think this translates to 600?! On what planet do you reside, sir? At his strongest, he'd have perhaps done a "legal" (with pause) 525-540. And to those who suggest he never trained for strength, the man COMPETED as a powerlifter before his bodybuilding success. Now I realize he didn't during his prime gassing years, but still ... Ronnie was beastly strong (and w/ psycho volume), but he wasn't close to a 600.
