sebastian vettel is pretty great as a driver but not impressed with the Circuit of America's layout, it flat out sucks imo especially for a new facility

Eau de Rouge is a flatout left, right and blind left.
1.st Texan turn is 1st gear left.

Anyway, all of the modern tracks are handwriting on Hermann Tilke. Don't understand why because
most of the drivers say that tehty are boring with little or none overtaking places. And if they are boring to race they sure are boring to watch...

F1 should get another, or two, tire manufacturers. Now they can do around 10-15 full out laps
and the rest of the race is abit saving tyres

Good post. They should ease up the restrictions that make F1 almost a one make series. The same goes especially for rallying which has been completely butchered in the last decade. (not to mention the Group B days).

it would be cool if they had a race series with zero rules or regulations.

Any kind of cars, wrecking, those little spike things on the hubs. Like Mad Max

the main (by far) problem of today's F1 is the enormous emphasis put on aerodynamic grip vs mechanical one.
the result is an object that has less and less things in common with a car.

trust me, i live 10 miles away from Maranello  ;)

Well, on the other hand I can understand restrictions.
Ron Dennis wanted to make engine and gearbox unista out of Beryllium.
Needles to say that is ridiciliously expensive. Whole shit would have
weighed 25kgs!! Around 55lbs.
McLaren was covered with something that acted as shark skin. Little spikes that bend with airflow
And stand back up in braking. Active wing in a way. With estimated 900bhp @ 20.000revs that
Would have been greatest fuel consuming machine ever...

Now, Lotus is a top tier team, and even they haven't been able to pay
Raikkonens salary!

Don't really mind the new engines. Estimates are that there will be more povee and torque anyway.
1986 Williams had 1600 bhp out of Gerhard Bergers qualifying engine. 1,5l turbo, that is!!
OK, qual. Engine, made to last 3 laps. Those where the days.

WOOO
