This whole idea that britain 'had to act' and 'was forced to declare war on germany' is such complete and total bs...germany was in no way threatening britain and in fact attempted multiple times to ally themselves with britain. It just makes no sense. Its like saying america would be forced to declare total war on russia over a border dispute in belarus or something.
