Steroid response:what to make of it?
« on: January 08, 2014, 08:04:53 AM »
Background
About 11 weeks ago I started TRT, test e at 250 mg/w. I'm 40, fat, but used to be a decent permabulker in my youth. Current results: I feel great, I've gotten much bigger. It feels like all muscle, but I'm no longer delusional enough to believe that. I've gained 22 Lbs in those 11 weeks, my jeans fit better, and a lot of people are telling me 'good job on your weight LOSS'! Does this make me a hyper responder? So overall it's a great success. Never coming off test again for the rest of my life.

Question
How does the dose/response curve work for all of you? Clearly I'm tempted to take more now. Not much more (just adding 100-200 mg mast/wk), but of course I realize that it won't end there. However, I also don't want to blow up in size. I realize that there are diminishing returns at play, just unsure of when they might kick in. So any anecdotes and personal experiences appreciated.

Once your body get use to that dose those ridiculous gains will slow way down. Five years from now you won't even be able to feel that amount. Everyone "blows up" first cycle or two. First one I went almost 30 pounds after that your weight really won't move that much even if you choose to abuse grams but the look will change. You then have to add peptides, slin if you want to keep the scale moving.

I mostly stuck to mickey mouse doses but every time I went up, I immediately gained more size via increased water/glycogen retention in the muscle. That's why I don't like to focus on numbers so much cause like they say; easy come easy go.

Honestly I'm glad the gains will slow down. Now that I'm old I'm not looking for maximum mass. A decent shape, fat % below obese (<15%) and not more then 200 Lbs are the goal. Then again, the temptation of blowing up is enormous. Becoming really big (think Ruhl, if he hadn't been clean  ;D ) has always been a fantasy of mine. But for long-term health reasons I don't want to go there. Need to be in decent shape and alive when my wife and I are old. So I stopped doing drugs, stopped sleeping around (ugly bastard, so that was easy) and even stopped taking caffein. Good thing you don't get STDs when yanking it, or I would have had to stop that too.  ::) :P

That is what is messing with my brain. It seems so perfect now. But how much will I lose if I would come off? I don't want to look like just another gym rat. I have naturally wide clavicles (wider than Heath by a country mile) so even as a gym rat I look like 'the big guy' in clothes. I look like Chaos after a dirty bulk, so the shirt never comes off.  ;D

Just to make sure we're on the same page: what do you consider Mickey Mouse dosages?

What would mess with you a lot more is if you went way above your natural limit using a couple grams a week, gh, slin etc. and then come off.

Something like 250mg of test, 30mg of dbol, 500mg of eq on their own not stacked.

If you stick to low doses you'll be limited on how much you grow but the you'll get the benefits of retaining muscle when dieting, the muscle will have more pop to it, and shrinking back to natural is not as drastic as someone who would do what I mentioned above.

Like people said the best gains do come when you first hop on, so there's no way to tell if you're a hyper responder simply going by those numbers. Only way to tell is to go ahead and find out on your own.

Make sure to keep an eye on your hemoglobin, blood pressure, and cholesterol and you should be fine.. Enjoy your cycle and feeling young again

I started well with the diet, but work messed with my schedule too much. Cant tell people you're not eating when you're the one who invited them. ::) Traveling home tomorrow afternoon, and then I have at least 3 weeks of uninterrupted control over my life.

True, so for an addictive personality like mine it is best to not take those additional steps. Hard, though. :(

Well, my goal is to look like shit. Right now I look like shit that has been shat on by a bear with loose bowels. So I shouldn't need too much to get where I want to be. Just some discipline. If only I could inject that...

I have been doing annual checkups anyway, even before TRT, so yes, I'm keeping an eye on those. Frankly I would have expected my blood pressure to rise, but it is still hovering around 100/70, so that's surprising to me.

That's the danger of feeling like shit: if it creeps up on you, you don't realize you feel like shit. I just thought it was old age, until I had my test checked (just for fun) during my routine checkups. That's when I found out I was borderline clinically deficient. Even worse, I have my father's results, because he had them done in re his prostate. Turns out his values (at 70 y.o.!) were higher than mine! So then the decision was easy: bend over and take my medicine. ;D

I also notice the improved mood that comes with test. Or IIRC that would probably be the increased estrogen from the test aromatizing, right? I don't take any estrogen control. I have it on hand, but not noticing anything that would warrant its use. I prefer to use as few medications as possible.

HOWEVER... my wife called me that my masteron has arrived yesterday, so looking forward to getting home tomorrow and jabbing myself with that. :P

lol

I have an addictive personality too but I focused all of that on diet, training, shaving, tanning, flexing in the mirror, etc  ;D

But really don't focus too much on the scale... I remember my first cycle I was proud of putting on 30 pounds of bloof and not being able to scratch the back of my head. The water weight and fat come easier than muscle....I would get as lean as possible before even considering substantial dosage increases. Just take it one step at a time.

no.

going from ZERO test and shitty nat test levels to HRT, you'll make gains/changes to your physique pretty quick, but then they'll top out at what your new "natural" should be.

i.e. if you start at 190 with shitty test levels, go on hrt, you'll get up to 225 fairly quick.. but you'll stay there forever until you raise the dose.

What was the reason for deciding to go on TRT in the first place??? Just curious.
