This should come as no surprise.
The UFC's top PPV stars (St. Pierre & Silva) are out of their lineups and now the Fertittas and White have a bit of a problem on their hands.
They tried to compensate a little for this year's upcoming low numbers by adding an extra $5 to the last UFC PPV event, but that won't do much in the long run.
So what's the best thing to do in this type of situation? Bring back a Lesnar that has spent a considerable amount of time back in the WWe back to the UFC for a short run, in order to have him bring with him a few million WWe fans that are willing to buy PPV events just to see their hero perform (regardless of winning or losing). I wouldn't be surprised if Joe Silva purposely matches up Lesnar with a couple of third-string has-beens in order to get rid of some of that ahem... "ring rust".
Dana and the Fertittas are businessmen and they know that shit isn't looking too good at the moment. Until they produce another top PPV headliner, they've got to do whatever it takes to try and match this past year's numbers.
