I'm doing carb nite, which is extremely similar to the anabolic diet (if not a copy of it with a few modifications). Works very well for me. I'm sitting sub-10% BF, feel great, good gym sessions (although a little weaker than when I was 15%+BF).
Only way to find out if it works is to try it.

Its a diet for fat people. And by fat people I mean endos (like myself). If you have a good metabolism and can keep yourself under 12%bf eating pizza, rice, etc... then go for it! If you gain fat by checking out a donut at Tim Hortons, then maybe try CKD (which both carb nite and anabolic diet are based off of).

Did not like at all. Tried it years ago when I was brainwashed into being afraid of carbs. Never felt good on it.

whats your current stack?

Training 6 days/wk, high volume, 1 carb nite/wk where starting at 630pm I start eating as much sugary crap as I can fit into myself until I bloat and go into a food coma. 3k calories are easily eaten that night lol maybe more, I never count calories.

I notice that there are people who do well on keto/ckd and others just feel like death all the time while on low carbs. I guess its just an individual thing. I'm glad I do well on keto because I drop fat like nothing else and feel great on it. As soon as I do a carb-based diet I baloon up to 15%+ bf and sit there until I cut carbs again.

Au naturalle. I'm only 170lbs (mid-day, morning I'm more like 160lbs) at 5'10.5".  I look skinny as hell in clothes :( but I love how I look out of them, so I can deal with it :)

Followed it religiously for 5 months when the book first came out.

Ate around 3000 cals during no carb days and 4000-5000 on carb day.

My carb day was Sunday, which was fun, but I felt sick if I overdid it.  I pumped up like a balloon on Monday, I was watery and bloated.  Bloat was all gone by Wednesday morning.  I looked flat as a pancake during the week.  Training on Thurs, Friday and Saturday was pure agony.  I felt like death after training legs.  People in the gym said I was white as a ghost after training legs.  I needed lots of caffeine to get through the rough spots.

Overall the diet is great for fat loss, but not very good for muscle size.

do you consume any carbs at all on your non carb up days?  Like maybe 25-30g?  I'm getting ready to start dieting but trying to decide whether or not to cut carbs out completely and just have one carb up day per week.  I, like you, seem to only drop fat when i lower carbs.  Look great in your avatar btw.

Thanks man.
I don't really count macros other than protein. I eat plenty of green veges, so all the carbs I get come from broccoli, asparagus, romaine lettuce, spinach, mushrooms (if they even have any carbs?), etc... My protein intake is about 170-200g and fats I don't count, I just cook 80/20 beef or pork loins, and if I'm eating a lean fish or chicken I add an avocado or some olive oil. I snack on macadamia nuts and almonds between meals most times. My carb nites are epic too. I eat 630pm - bed time (usually 11pm or midnight or until I just pass out from the food lol). Last sat I had 2 full course meals at Ruby Tuesdays, then went home and had 3 boxes of cookies (24 cookies each) dipped in cottage cheese with walden farms pancakes syrup. Didn't count calories but I bet that was a lot lol. I don't bloat though... I mean initially I do of course, but the next day I woke up nice and crisp and full and veiny. Today I trained chest and still keeping the fullness going along with the vascularity. The leaner you are the more you can get away with on your carb nites, so if you're not under 10% then don't bother with huge re-feeds, keep it moderate.

Im basically doing this diet and didnt even know it.

I am eating peanut butter in my shakes so I assume im getting 30-40grams a day of carbs from that alone. Also eat about 7 walnuts a day, almond milk, cream, etc.

Seems like a good way to keep size on, but not get too out of shape during the winter. And it allows you to relax on weekends and be a normal person. Am i right ?

thanks!  That is great info.  I'm gonna incorporate this in my diet.  I've tried just doing moderate carbs every day and could get lean(ish) but never to where I want to be which is around 8%.  I'd say I'm currently somewhere in between 11 and 12%. I have found that I don't really lose much muscle or strength as long as I keep the protein high and fats moderate so we'll see how this goes.  I'm natural too btw.

Huge amounts of saturated fats inhibit nitric oxide release.

All your blood vessels would have been constricted, very little blood flow to the muscles, hence the flat white look.

Tried it a few weeks ago, the high fat intake combined with works toilet paper (may as well wipe your arse with scotch pad) meant for a very painful few days. Then gave up
