Does anyone else get terrible shin pumps while on gear?
« on: June 09, 2014, 03:18:04 PM »
Right i'm on a mild cycle by bodybuilding standards, 500mg of test sust. But the shin pumps I'm getting are unreal. I can jog for maybe 10 minutes before the intensity of the pump in my shins becomes agonising.

I use an aromatase inhibitor so the problem is not excess estrogen.

I'm also led to believe testosterone-mediated erythropoietin synthesis may lead to an overabundance of haemoglobin, which may contribute to the pump sensation. Hence I've just had my blood taken to see if my Hb is over normal limits.

Would the long esters of testosterone cause enough water retention to explain this? Does anyone else suffer from this problem? Is there anything i'm missing?

I'm loathe to switch to test prop exclusively, as it is inconvenient compared to injecting sust. However, I find not being able to run inexcusable as I'm generally rather athletic.

I've had the same problem when I did sust for the first time. I'd probably get them now too if I tried to run, but I just stick to the stepper for cardio. I'm not sure it has to do with the ester but rather the pump you get on gear, whether its jogging or doing biceps curls. If jogging/running is that important to you try lowering the dose, otherwise find other ways to do cardio.

Yes! Very painful ones when on any type of gear.
Going to the beach is ridiculous because walking in the sand I end up getting shin pumps within a few steps.

Check into buying a 'shin splint sleeve' it helps me get an extra 10 -15 minutes of jogging or fast pace walking in.

I do if i don't stretch good before jogging.  They can get really painful after a mile or two i literally have to walk for 5 minutes and stretch to get them to go away.

my chiro says due to pump that gear gives and there is little room in the anterior part of the lower leg that it gets compressed and bad pain-I couldn't finish one length jog of the boardwalk yesterday-sprinting I can do

I'm the exact same way.  That's why i used to do sprints and walk for a minute back when i ran.

Running is just too boring for me these days.  I train muay thai and sometimes ride a bike, but that's about it.  My calves get all pumped up on the bike too.

sprints are prob better anyway and you get to rest in between-the constant pounding of jogging kills me
