Imgine what you can't do winning that much. Everything you take for granted today will be gone. You'd have to live like a hermit or be hounded day after day. The rich would shun you because you are a lotto winner, the poor would shun you out of jealousy. You'd have to workout at home, you'd have to be holed up in your mansion or risk being attacked all of the time. The media would plaster your face for 24 hours a day for the next week and you'll never be able to go anywhere without someone knowing. You'd be climbing up Mt. Everest and the fucking Sherpa would point and say "Oh you lottewee winnah"

None of that is necessarily true.

Many big lotto winners never give interviews and disappear in the anonymity from which they came. I can imagine doing likewise, particularly if after winning you immediately move to another part of the country, which I am certain I would do were I a big winner.

Can you name the last three really big lottery winners? Probably not. Would you recognize them if you passed them on the street today? Probably not. It's interesting to note that nearly half of all lottery winners end up broke several years later. Coincidence? No. That kind of boon just makes you more of what you already are. If you are profligate and irresponsible with money the lottery will not change that; it will merely enable it. Can anyone here imagine how Methyl Mike would turn out if he won a lottery?

There are a great many wealthy people in this area (hundreds of millions and billionaires--there is a street not too far from me called "billionaires row") but those people are not really bothered by common folk. You see them out shopping, at coffee shops etc. and no one bothers them. That is as it should be.

We are about to get a whole new group of multimillionaires here when Facebook goes public.
