Palumboism = Cushing's syndrome?
« on: October 01, 2014, 03:54:33 PM »
just my theory.... both symptoms seem similar except with juice you have more muscle but the enlargement of abdomen and skinnier limbs tells me that they're related.

Interesting theory. I can see how you would connect the two. As both deal with the shutting down of the bodies natural hormonal systems. But unlike palumboism, cushing syndrome is reversible. As I've had it before during a lengthy prednisone regimen. As far as looks, I only noticed puffed up cheeks.

Ah, yes. I forgot about the acne I had on my forehead and easy bruising I would get on my legs. And oddly, only on my legs. I remember on one occasion, after doing some kicks on a heavy bag, my shin's were a bruised up mess. I was confused at first. Because I was only fucking around on the heavy bag. Later I was able to make the correlation between the cushing syndrome and the easily attained bruising.

The acne was pretty bad too. Not so bad as to leave any scars but definitely the worse I had in my life.

For traps like that I'd take a little muscle-wasting and some extra stretch marks

Interesting theory, but it seems unlikely.  Cushing Syndrome is caused by high levels of cortisol, and anabolic steroids work to suppress cortisol.

yes it does. but your cortisol also elevates when you go on gear, and cortisol receptors increase in numbers as well. for someone who's been on it for long(plus aging) perhaps cortisol finally over ride anabolics and become dominant hormone?

Well, I'm not quite sure how you could agree with my viewpoint with your first sentence, only to contradict it in the next....but anyways, I haven't ever heard of anabolics elevating cortisol or increasing the numbers of cortisol receptors.  Everything I've found suggests the exact opposite.

Do you have a credible source that supports your position?

so what happens when a person takes a break from steroids?   do cortisol levels radically spike?

And cortisol = stress hormone, correct?   Suppose the liver is battling orals, would that trigger it?  and/or the total overall impact to the systems of fcking with insulin levels...

Def. not Cushing's syndrome... but many of its problematic features will accompany the systemic effects of long term GH+ Insulin abuse... as Cushing's may be caused due to "several" mechanisms/differentials...   Where some forms are NOT reversible...   End effector would be the heightened increase of cortisol... which may be induced by 1) actual site of production within the adrenal cortex(possible tumor)..2)  a congenital problem with your pituitary that causes abnormal excessive production of signaling hormone ACTH that induces the production of your glucocorticoids(cortisol) when binding to adrenal receptor on adrenal membrane... 3) antibody binding to receptor on adrenal causing prolific production... 4) Ineffective disinhibition of negative feedback mechanisms...... etc. etc.   the list goes on and on..  but the effects of cortisol are not linear....  Palumboism is a direct LONG TERM effect of prolonged abuse of GH and excessive INSULIN !!!   End of story....  Notice the atrophy to a particular side of the body on all bodybuilders after stepping on stage for x amount of years.. THEY ALL EVENTUALLY GOT WORSE!!  ALL !!!!! u know why--  the use of GH and its effects do not stop while continually abusing it.... look at all it's mechanisms of action... increased bone growth! hmmmmmm    where do nerves from the spinal cord come out of???  vertebrae... this will abnormally grow too.. more than likely having impinging effects on these nerve roots....    what do nerves do???  stimulate muscles?   excitations?    what happens when transmission is less effective? hmmmmmm   ATROPHY my friend ...  The list goes on and on..   Increased cortisol levels go hand in hand when GH is taking effect.. but should not be seen as the overruling causation...   and i can lecture you guys later on its hyperglycemic effects later if u like(cortisol)...   but understandable on how u may conclude Cushing's from just the grotesque observation of these individuals.. but it is not the same features   Cushing's patients usually display much less overall muscularity.. humpback features...weight gain....etc.

do you know of any studies which show a negative correlation between # of pages read / books studied and literacy?

i think you would make a fascinating test subject

LOL yep.. after almost 12 + yrs of Medical education.. you tend to not give a fuck about grammar...as one can see when reading other doctor's notes on a patient's chart..  pure chicken scratch.... So after taking endless notes for years..one tends to write straight from the dome.(as though he is taking efficient/timely notes in class). so i do apologize for the non cohesive synopsis of my argument  =)       i have no problem explaining my argument in layman's terms for you later and with much better grammar

no problem man, just thought it was funny.  i notice a lot of "successful" people seem to talk /write in this completely addled way.
