I know Arnold said in interviews that back in the day when he was on top it was legal to purchase AAS. But is this true? Were the AAS got with a prescription or did one of the local gym rat's keep him in the copious amounts of d-bol etc that he purportedly took?

Arnold was/is full of shit.

Weider provided him with all the gear he needed.

I'm sure local gym dealers also hooked him up.

He was Weider's boy, so he got whatever he wanted.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing about the weiders. Im sure they had to have access to prescription drugs to keep their "boy" on top.

I think it was very easy to get it (at least it was around here). Didn`t cost much either. I read one story of a contest being held in Mexico in the early 70s, and the BBs from California who attended more or less emptied the Mexican pharmacies of steroids and took it across the border, their cars literally crammed with gear.

well in the later years, arnold was ahead of his time, through the use of site injections he enhanced his body........at the gym a friend of arnolds would tell me that back in the day arnold would go to germany for 2 weeks and come back a behemoth, he said he would come back to venice and be so huge, he said arnold would tell him some secrets about the site injections he did in germany and things like that.

No one is making outrageous claims here. Arnold's AAS use is pretty well known fact.

^Exactly, that and Arnold tended to boast about everything back then.......he did ALOT of things that are well known. Nothing that has been posted in this thread is outrageous, consider who we're talking about.

In Wendy Leigh's unauthorized bio on Arnold, she said he started D-Bol at 13 yrs. old. She also said the amounts he took would scare the other gym members / bodybuilders... Not sure if all of that is true, but she interviewed many old timers from his first gyms in Graz and Germany.. ??
