most have not...but it doesnt have anthing to do with them being a "bodybuilding guru"...someone could have all the bodybuilding wisdom in the world but that does not mean they themselves could be a top bodybuilder.

dan duchaine was the most brillant guru in the history of bodybuilding...he competed a few times but even with his immense knowledge and brilliant mind he was never able to translate that to his own physique because he was not genetically gifted.

the top gurus have the knowledge needed to put guys on stage at their best...that is something that most bodybuilders could not do on their own.

When you look at the genius behind Barry bonds you would never think it was somebody like victor conte (The ultimate guru). These guys are masters of the human body in response to performance enhanced training. They get paid for their guidance and opinion on ones training/nutritional/drug regimen. Are they necessary?..... That depends on the knowledge of the individual who might need that advice. Are they beneficial? sure... an expert opinion always helps. Are they reliable for the result of the finished product? No, the Guru sets the guidelines to perfection, the way he wants it done. Therefore, it is up to the athlete to follow those guidelines in order to achieve the best look possible.

Yes they do.  And they are awesome. This particular one is the best guru around.  Follow his wisdom and become a champion like him.

yea theres this guru on a certain message board (initials are T.A). He once placed second in an online bodybuilding contest with 5 other competitors, he came in at a shredded 154lbs on a 6 foot frame, with the least amount of muscle i might have ever seen on anyone who wasnt swimming a 400 meter medley.

What an athlete, what a competitor, what wealth of training and nutrition knowldege, but on top of all of that, WHAT A GURU.

Because from the looks of his pictures, he most definetely practices what he preaches.

But isnt Vince in a whole different league?

Surely we cannot afford his rates.

And with his recent high-placing in a NPC sanctioned event, must be charging more. I'm pretty sure by the time he left the comp that evening, he was fully booked for two years in advance.

Come to think of it, didnt he hep Mike Quinn in 92, for the WBF?

Troponin, excellent superheavyweight, and his trainees seem to be doing very well in competition...
