Living Legend!

Much better bicep peaks on both than today's generation. Al has also one of the most detailed backs.

To think Albert Beckles was 55 and coming in 2nd in the Olympia, meanwhile everyone makes excuses for Ronnie and Dorian falling apart in their 40s.

He was always a good bodybuilder but in the late 70's and early 80's he just got ripped.  I hear about him using heavy weights but I also hear about him using moderate weights. Not sure what is fact and what is fiction.

"Taste"? Coming from a subhuman who makes fun of a woman with cancer?

'Taste'? Would you define an illegal and hiv infected budget hooker with pancake nipples from Africa as good 'taste'?

Albert Beckles is awesome. Known him for a long time.  He is an IFBB Judge out here in Southern California, and always very respectful and cool.

he was born in 1930 and is from Barbados......no reason to lie.

Actually there's a big reason to lie , he will be unique in his class, will hold records almost impossible to surpass if he indeed was born in 1930......

I still think he was born in 1938, and Joe to push his "bodybuilding is the fountain of youth and his  snake oil ads" came up with the idea.....

I could be wrong though .

Ric has one hellava story. Arnolds training partner for 4 years. Designed both the Golds and World Gym logos/T shirts. Knows all the old timers on a personal basis. A Muscle Beach historian. Done many movies and stage shows. A top ranked pro wrestler. Won about every Bodybuilding honor out there. I have not seen Ric for over 2 years since I moved to AZ. I can tell you that he is not the best dressed man in the BB world. Lives in those stinkin Ts 24/7. He is a handsome old fart. He looks like my little brother.

My guess is that Beckles has always lied about his age...gives him something unique being the oldest man on stage. He is my age +/- a few.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't Albert have a brother who is also a bodybuilder and did some acting?  I think he was in the movie The Deep with Nick Nolte.  Excellent movie by the way.

This is what training, eating correctly and great genes can do for you.

Dude will probably live past 100.

He's lucky to still be alive, he nearly died from experimenting with insulin several decades ago...cardiac arrest....

I love how he used to lie about his age. I have early 1980's Muscle and Fitness magazines where in one article he claimed he was born in 1930 and another where he claimed 1939. His birth year changed from month to month. Still unsure of his ACTUAL birth year?

Kind of like how Leroy Colbert changed his bicep measurement claim.  At first Leroy claimed to be "the first to build 20" arms".  And then when 20" arms started becoming the norm in bodybuilding, he conveniently  changed his claim to "the first to build 21" arms".  ::)

Doesn't look much older than in his late 50s. That's some good genetics right there.
