Got my son a wind up pocket watch for his communion. Only gold plated (the fuck I was spending a few thousand on that) but it is something he will appreciate and remember when older, unlike the other toys which or cash which had no thought to them.
Fucking hate how spoiled kids are now (not the kid's fault) - it means that no toy or present stands out as they get them week in week out without earning it or any thoughtful present drifts into a faded memory with 100 other toys bought.
Should have gotten him a getbig account for his communion. Getbig is the gift that keeps on giving throughout one's whole life.
