Im a HS teacher in NYC and the law is no phones-its as enforceable as jaywalking-its a big problem-I like my phone but I am a responsible adult.. these kids are addicted and helpless without their phone-they are robotic phone zombies..and rather get suspended then give up their phone..

You admitted to being addicted to your phone as well, so don't be a hypocrite.

Finally in a place where I don't feel so old. Lol.

To the poster who made the comment regarding AOL. Yeah, I remember that. Lol. And since we're all guys here, I can remember my parents leaving the house, me trying to look up some quick porn, but not being able to because it took so fucking long to load ! Haha !!

Kids don't know how well they have it !

But kids will never truly know the joy I had as a kid playing " The Streets Of Rage " trilogy on the Sega Genesis growing up ! 8)

Nothing like a bunch of westerners talking about the misery they suffered living in their suburban child hood homes
 ;D

My goal is that my kids suffer more hardship as child than they do as adults, so they can gloat over the pussyeque nature of generation nothing's spawn.

I don't thinks do have it that good to be honest.  I would be outside from 3-9 everyday playing with my friends.  Running, laughing having fun.  Sitting on their asses with a phone texting doesn't sound better to me

Subjective though. You tell kids that, and it goes one ear out the other. In THEIR eyes, they have it better than we ever did. And I, for the most part, agree with them.

Lungren can think whatever he wants, but I grew up poor. Didn't have a pot to piss in. Very far removed from suburban life. Hardship is all I know. No lie.

Why are you tracking the movements of a gimmick?

And a shitty gimmick at that....

Then you are truly very fortunate in this day and age.

Hardship to todays generation means not having a computer or a television.

You all sound like a bunch of old fucks yelling at kids to stay off your lawn!!! If any of you were 12-18 right now every single one of you would have a smart phone in your hand at all times.

Times have changed folks learn to evolve. I swore I would never get a cell but my wife got one for my road trips and I used it. Swore I'd never text, well shit now that's all I do. Swore I'd never have a smart phone, well guess what I got one of them to. My wife, my kids (18 and 15) plus myself all have smart phones and it is nice! Quick text where you at what you doing and boom I know who is where and whats going on. BUT.................I can still talk to my kids and carry a conversation face to face with them, even if they think Dad aint cool no more.
