Because Muhammad was a real person , he was born in Mecca in 570 AD. His father died shortly before his birth, and he lost his mother at the age of six.

People make Jesus out to be some weak, hippie looking, "it's all about love, peace and doves"...
Like if he got into a fight, he'd try to win the opponent over with love, as he is getting punched in the face. And in this, modern day society is very critical of him.
Never mind the fact that he lived in a time  much harsher than this. I think that the Bible has been edited to give a skewed, idealistic view of the man, to make him more of a supernatural superhero, than the mortal man that he was.

Well if you find yourself in a muslim country and make fun of any prophet mentioned in the Q'uran you'll get stoned or killed.

Why they particularly take offence when making fun of Mohammad? It's because he is exclusively mentioned in the Q'uran.

2 main reasons:

1) You can mock Christ/Christianity without any fear of a violent backlash.

2) Christianity, unlike most other world religions, isn't associated with an ethnic group so mocking it can be done without the risk of being branded a racist.

Its quite simple: Muslims/Islams threaten to kill those who insult their God. Look at Salman Rushdie. He has a price on his head for saying some bad stuff about islam.

There was a cartoon that made fun of islam, and a bunch of islams rioted and threatend to kill the cartoonist.

When you insult God or Jesus Christ, the most christians or jews do is bitch and moan on a radio/tv show (fox news or whatever). Then you never hear about it again.

to b honest i had a cell mate back in 89 who was a muslim, we would actually share versus from eachothers books,his quaran and my bible. we got along great and had a blast talking about the 2 books and the relativity in them with eachother, it was really amazing on how similar alot of the versus where.only difference was(and it was a huge difference)is that they/he believed that jesus was just a great prophet and i/we believed that jesus was the son of god, other than that we where cellies for 3 months or so before they sent me to the state pen,thats where i encountered the radical(5 PERCENTER MUSLIMS).they believe the white man is the DEVIL and worship a guy named LOUIS FARRAKHAN, a real RADICAL,i was considered the head devil himself cause of my BLOND HAIR and BLUEISH GREEN EYES i actually spooked some of them one time by saying i put a satanic curse on them and they where really getting upset and worried over it,id start chanting some shit i heard from a VINCENT PRICE HORROR MOVIE years ago and it sounded very evil and demonic

I guess that there are more eastern people than western ones who show at least some respect for  Jesus.
Did he really exist - I doubt it.
What "Jesus" as a total stands for may be looking behind the veil to seize power over yourself. Therefore he's hated by the establishment which fuels radical, progressive groups.
