you can laugh at it but have you really looked into it. Reagan was not a Dreamer and he did take it serious. Still everyone can have a point of view, by the way the Guy in the film is ex US Air Force and has a PHD. Not a fool. I believe him. He was doing a job in the cold war time where Guys like you and me would never get near to doing security wise.

what if the persone being shot at pulls out a mirror and the laser goes back to the person shooting?

Unless it was a perfectly machined mirror, the laser is going to dump enough energy into the material to vaporize it pretty quickly. A POS mirror is almost no help.

I read that all the tests the Navy conducted were at targets moving in a fixed trajectory.  If that's the case, I'm not very impressed.

Think about how fast we have lasers? this all started a lot more early than you think. We advanced very fast..very fast but where did this come from 1947 till now very fast and this is only what we as normal Citizens know.

I was going to sell my idea to the opposing military. Was hoping to start the bids at 150 million. Can't put a price on safety...
