Lawyers will take just about any case. Lawyers are scum.

Yes, and the same scum become our Judges and Politicians.  And the dumb police are their eager dogs.

I wonder if the kids had been stabbed instead of shot the parents would be suing the company that made the knives...

If they had been run over by a Ford truck they would be suing Ford...

Killed by box cutters suing UPS...

killed by lightning suing science...

Of course not.  These families have been drafted into a movement that is using the dead bodies of their children to take the rights away from law abiding citizens.  They know they will lose the lawsuit.  They are just trying to do damage to gun manufactures by costing them a ton of money on legal fees.  They hope that eventually these kind of suits will cripple the manufactures, force them out of business or intimidate them into changing the way they do business.

Right out of the liberal playbook.  They can't get their way by convincing people that they are right with a logical, fact based arguments.  They can't get the laws changed using the methods that are in place to do it legally and ethically.  So....they find a martyr to hold up to play on peoples emotions.  Then they come up with some back handed scheme that will accomplish their goal in a shady, long, round about way.  I have nothing but harsh words for these scumbags.  The liberal activists, the scumbag lawyers and the parents.  Fuck all these people.

Why didn't the parents sue the shrinks that misdiagnosed that skull faced paranoid psychotic, as having  Asperger's Syndrome, because his rich family could "shop around" for a more socially acceptable "diagnosis," so their nut job son wouldn't be put in a rubber room, where he deserved to be?

His shrink was up for sex charges against his other clients, and ran away to New Zealand.

I thank you.

It's a shame, but in this world there will always be sociopaths or people that are mentally ill in some way.  Murderous lunatics with no regard for human life.  There is no ban or law that could be passed that will stop this.  People need to face that reality rather than blaming inanimate objects.

All you can do as a teacher is smile, pray for the best, and prepare every way you can, inside the system.  I always placed my steel desk at the best strategic angle to the door.  I kept a spare flagpole and more importantly, a chunk of cinder block (used by the previous teacher as a door jam) handy, to use in case I had to protect this room full of students from a shooter on campus.  And if I ever heard shots on campus, I would ORDER every student in that class to ATTACK that shooter the moment they entered - and I'd be leading that charge!  I might catch a bullet in the belly, but the group will take that shooter down.

it wasn't perfect, not by any measure. BUT if every teacher had this kind of aggressive plan - where the shooter KNEW he woudl be getting his head beat in, even if he took a few people down first - then people might not try such madness.  I admire the school workers that took down that recent shooter earlier this year.  Would love to see more of that - these are the biggest heroes of our society.

Middle School Principal: Let Students Hurl Canned Food To 'Stun' Intruders

VALLEY, Ala. (AP) — A middle school principal in eastern Alabama wants to stockpile cans of food such as corn and peas in classrooms so that students could hurl them as weapons in a last-resort confrontation with a school intruder.

In a letter Friday, W.F. Burns Middle School Principal Priscella Holley asked parents to have each student bring an 8-ounce canned item.

"We realize at first this may seem odd; however, it is a practice that would catch an intruder off guard," she wrote in the letter, published by TV station WHNT in Huntsville.

"The canned food item could stun the intruder or even knock him out until the police arrive," Holley wrote. "The canned food item will give the students a sense of empowerment to protect themselves and will make them feel secure in case an intruder enters their classroom."

The school is in Valley, Alabama, part of the Chambers County school system.

The letter was sent after school employees received training from Auburn University's Department of Public Safety, Chambers County Schools Superintendent Kelli Hodge told The Associated Press in an interview Tuesday.

The food cans would be stored in classrooms and students wouldn't be carrying them around school, Hodge said.

Using cans or other items as weapons would be a last resort for students unable to evacuate, Hodge told the AP.

Teachers are taught to barricade classroom doors if an intruder is in the school, but if that fails, the cans and items such as textbooks could be used, she said.

"If somebody is going to force their way through, then as the last resort you would start throwing any objects you could get your hands on," Hodge said.

Asked whether throwing cans of food could make a student a target, Hodge said they would already be a target at that point.

"If it comes to the situation that they are forced to do that, then they are a target because they've not been able to evacuate," she said.

If the cans are not needed for security, they will be donated to a local food pantry at the end of the year, Holley told parents.

"We hope the canned food items will never be used or needed, but it is best to be prepared," she wrote.

Only the football kids on steroids will be able to throw the cans hard enough to injure the outcast assailant who ironically will probably be targeting the jocks anyway.

There's been a lot of shootings in the US.  Way more than elsewhere.  How do we stop this?

You know what we really need?  Lots more guns!
