Looking at the pictures on the random bbing pic thread it's pretty clear that where we are now is in the realm of the .0001 percent or some small enough fraction to make it not relevant to a normal person.  I know the top bodybuilders were always the genetic elite but when I started it at least seemed in the realm of the possible to try to rise to the top level.  Delusional even then in the early 80s yes, but even the top guys bore some relation to reality.  Today forget it.

Sorry to tell you that you're not special and not part of the 0.0001%.

What I find disheartening is that it's not just about the genetically gifted, it's now about who's willing to also throw their health away with crazy doses.

Talking about health... Isn't America all about the NOW, the PRESENT, anyway?

So it's no wonder our personalities resemble that. And bodybuilders are no different.

You can see it everywhere, in every facet of American society.

At 17 I thought I could look like the pro's in the magazines. At 18 I had a wake up call from the gym owner who said I would never look like that.
21-26 I was a perma bulker. By 27 I had a clue and dieted.

By 30 I was jaded by it all and the amount one would have to take.
Now at 35 I get by on as little as possible or moderate anabolics with nothing left to prove and no intention of trying to.

There used to be people in the magazines that you could get close to.  Not the top guys, but someone here or there.  Now everything is so out of whack expectations wise.  Even considering steroids.  Inspiration has become desperation.

The guys that are on high doses are lunatics. They have mental problems. Pro bodybuilders are nut jobs. I wish that I knew this when I was a teen.
