Wrong.

So you must be very experienced in fighting. Any tapes or vids of you in action?

C'mon Pellius , I know you are a BJJ guy but you know that Oldtimer's  post is fucking retarded.

I reread his post and I'm not sure how to interpret it. I think he said something like if you don't know how to fight on the ground then you don't know how to fight.

Non wrestlers/grapplers have been fighting for years. It's like saying if you don't know how to kick you don't know how to fight.

As far as all fights ending on the ground. If you mean a fight to the finish then sure. But that's like saying all fights start standing up.

Back in the days before UFC when the Gracies offered 10 grand to anyone who could beat them, and these were real street fights. You were even allowed to bit but nobody did out of pride but hitting in the nuts were fair game we had guys coming in from all over, all the time. People back then were clueless about ground fighting and take down defense so no matter how good they were on their feet they were defenseless on the ground. So they lost. Everyone of them lost. No matter from what discipline they all lost in a matter of minutes. Even as a blue belt I easily took down a golden gloves boxer and choked him out. And I didn't even know much take downs then. I just made sure to keep my chin tucked in and once he came close enough to me to reach me with a strike I just rushed him like a retard and hugged like a homo until we both fell to the ground. Then it was my game.

Of course if this was out in the street and he had a friend with him he would have done a boot dance on my head.

O.Z.

Not for street fighting anyway. Too much can go wrong, especially if the opponent has friends along for the ride. Also, taking somebody down on a mat is one thing. Take downs and rolling on the concrete can end poorly. I think there is a better option.

Have you tried BJ instead?

How about avoiding physical confrontation altogether when possible? It's not hard at all to defend your wellbeing this way.

And if you ever find it necessary to hurt someone (knock on wood), do it in the most cowardly way possible, one that does not put yourself at any risk or discomfort. Optimally, by use of law enforcement, and when not applicable, a way that can not be traced back to you.

the best way to avoid street fighting is to get off the street.

Yes, don't use the streets just hanging around in groups. The streets are for transportation, by walking or vehicle, or just a pleasant bike ride. And please, use the sidewalk when walking. Take your got damn fighting and gun battles away from public areas, off of the streets and away from neighborhood.

Carry on.

False. Kickboxing is a sport with rules. It cannot cope with lethal techniques.

Lethal??  So you've been in combat?  H2H ?

In a street fight, I only use Akido with the Seagal principles. Nothing but wrist breakers and hip tosses
