Yes, ask Strawman. Like Walter he can tell you how to train your fighter.

I never said I could

All I said was this was your not so secret strategy

You look like you're about to have a heart attack in that video

I'm confused....are we training these guys to kick the shit out of somebody or to change a tire?

You obviously do not grasp the extraordinarly complex physiological benefits of rope training.

If you can't, tire flipping will be so far outside your realm of understanding you should just stop now.

"lat pulls"? Not sure what you're talking about. I put him on Starting Strength. Probably best for some of you guys to not add uninformed opinion into the mix.
Oh dang, sorry man.  I was thinking of throwing in lat pulls for some back work as it usually is a great exercise for myself and works the back really well.  What promotion is your boy fighting in?  I like to keep up on MMA.

Nothing to explain. I'm handling the strength training of an MMA fighter. That means The Big Three and power cleans. Not tires,  not ropes or any other Men's Health crap. We build champions.

I do think a lot of the tire flipping ad rope swinging sort of thing is gimmicky at best. How could one argue that sort of stuff being time and effort better spent than lets say Oly lifts, the powerlifts and plyos for example. Conditioning that will actually be practical will be more specific, in this example actual sparring.

Cross fit your fighter into the ground. His strength and stamina will be unrivaled. His only concern come game time is if he can fight or not and how he responds to getting punched in the face.

 You can thank me later.

Trolling?

 :)

Just like the op.

Seriously  though, and I know it's not a routine you use, I do think a crossfit  program would have some practical  benefits in a short training  peroid. I'm no crossfit fan, but I think the basic grouping  of exercise in its format would be somewhat ideal (compound explosive movements done while building  cardio).

Your thoughts, or completely dumb idea?

If you separate the O-lifts and use them as intended (for power, no more than 1-5 reps with 2-4min recovery) then fine. But to use them as part of a "WOD" is a terrible idea that leads to injuries. No, I don't advocate CrossFit (it's not really clearly defined as to what it really is anyway). The risk/reward is to great to use with any real athlete especially a professional athlete.

Fighters need a huge gas tank and not the ability to do one rep in such things as a bench press. It's conditioning to fight hard for 3 to 5 minutes. Lifting should be mostly contained for power development and not specific low rep strength.

Why are people responding to the OP like he's serious? Just "yet another" YAGR gimmick.

I keep my guys strictly focused on The Big Three powerlifts, then introduce power cleans after 21 days. No tires, ropes, and all that nonsense.

NO rope climb  :o  ............
