I think Bill Dobbins is looking for a complicated answer about this instead of the simple and obvious one:
The vast majority of people don't want to see a female that looks like a man.
I hope the film goes into the extreme drug use in hardcore BB being the main problem here.

Female BB has gotten kind of absurd over the last decade. I used to be a (schmoe) fan in the 80's and 90's, but the latest crop look as bad as their male counterparts. All of the female physiques that I find attractive are in the "fitness" and some of the "physique" categories. Like men's BB, it's feeling the pressure from below and isn't responding well. It just forces the competitors to get bigger, bloofier and more cartoonish. Like men's BB, it'll die soon.

sounds like they think there's a great conspiracy here and that female bodybuilding shows is something god given. dont they realize it's a debate going on if there's a future even for MALE bodybuilding?
