You don't have to be a household name to be successful. A good friend of mine who I use to train with and part of the "posse" we hung with when hitting the clubs in the South Bay in Southern Cali. We also both worked for Hughes Aircraft back in the late 1980s. He went to the Air Force Academy
and then transferred to USC where he got a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He was a smart guy and was promoted fast and often. Crushed me in the Aerospace world as well as in the pussy slaying game. He decided to ditch the 8-5 grind and go into modeling. Traveled the world, made good money, got bit parts in movies and TV shows and retired after about seven years with a good stash of cash saved. He, along with his wife, started their own business, a very successful yoga studio and yoga school.
No one will recognize his name, Kevin Light, but he did better than if he just grinded it out for decades in Aerospace like I did.
Although he didn't market himself as a fitness model he did land a cover shot on Muscle and Fitness within his first year. (First thing I told him when the cover came out was that he needed more delts).
