Just an update for anyone interested or for future reference, I managed to get the weight stack of this thing.  It was four bolts underneath the base and two bolts and nuts for the stopper at the bottom of the weight stack.  I then was able to pull the base away from the frame and remove the plates and the rods.

Other than doing shrugs on it, it's worthless

That's what it is being used for; I haven't seen a person do anything other than shrugs or deep stretch push ups on it within the last decade.

Yeah, just shrugs is all the old one we had was used for.  Though I do have to admit that shrugs on that thing were much better than using the Hammer Strength shrug machine.  (Though HS machine is more versatile and you can do more exercises on it)

Find the fuckers who left their boots laying there and ask them. Smelly bootless pricks.

Lol.  Epic Mitsubishi panel van.  Brutal 4" wide shelving effort & garage sale breakfast bar stool.  Sublime rusty yard cart wheel of yesteryear, boldly declaring that the suburban clapboard finish lacks the depth of character its owner possesses.

The Owner was a bit simple, but he wasn't short of a quid.  The property itself was a multi million dollar large property in an expensive suburb.  He was a heavy machinery operator/owner (bobcats, excavator etc..)  He had two young sons who helped load the leg extension machine into my van.

So you confess to driving a van then?

I can beat that.  I've got two.  ;D

I own a Toyota Hiace Van (SBV) and a Toyota Camry Sportivo.  I use the Camry for comfort and the van for utilitarian purposes.

A camry?!  I'm prescribing a full scale wagon wheel and several used truck tires at the driveway entrance.

What's wrong with a Camry?  I only buy Toyotas these days and the Camry is as reliable as they come, plus I like the sports models they make.

Sure, reliable for the grocery store.  Shit load of good it'll do you when someone's selling a vintage bicep supinator and your van's in the shop.

I don't normally buy gym equipment, it was a bit of an impulse purchase, plus i got it for $5, so I figured I can't really lose.  I have actually spent some time today pulling it down and cleaning it up, as the seller had left it out in the weather and it had some mild oxidation.  The fucker is as solid as a rock, and works a treat.  This thing will last a thousand years, I swear to god. They don't make em like this anymore.

I say the same about the stuff I drag home.  Always true too.

One of the best things I got for basic reno, besides the penetrating oil, lithium grease, and fish oil rust guard, was a set of mini bottle brushes from Bunnings.  Came in a case, all graduated by size, nylon, brass, and steel, put 'em into the drill and spin (usually with gasoline as a solvent).  I've gotten into more holes/bores than I can count with that little $5 set.  A true hoarder's must have.

Another update.  Just pulled this down and cleaned it up and put back together.  Came up pretty good, you gotta love stainless steel.  Still a few stubborn rust spots, the top pulley wheel I had trouble getting really clean but all in all I am pretty stoked with the leg extension considering I paid $2.25 for it.

Why sell it? Use it, and rip open those Levi's seams.

Not stainless steel but chromed steel. Big difference. The pulleys are aluminium.

Cheers, you are right.  The top pulley was the hardest to clean, while the bottom one was easy and come up nice.  I used some steel wool and some steel cleaner.  I am not sure if the top pulley is made out of the same stuff, probably is, just been exposed to the elements more I think.  I tried white vinegar, that helped a little.
