paul dillet was a genetic freak from the front, no one in the time frame compared to him

but he sucked at posing and his back was just a blob of water he couldnt pose for shit.

imagine if he actually did train and pose hard, and brought his back up .

It isn't just that he lacked intensity in the gym. The dude's shoulders were ground to dust at some point in the '90s and I'm sure that limited him as well.

Dillett's back had its moments, but his delts overpowered it so much in the BDB for instance; made it look way worse.

Dillet was a beast from the front. From the back...not so much.

I think Dillett had the perfect upper-leg to lower-leg balance.  So if your quads are going to be bigger than his, your calves should be bigger than his too.

IMO, it really detracts from a physique to have enormous quads without enormous calves to go along with them.  It's a problem that practically every major bodybuilder has suffered from since the days of Yates and Dillett.   Quads keep getting bigger, which makes the calves look more and more under-sized. (Ramy and Wolf are the two worst offenders at the moment. But no one has calves to match thighs that big.)

Dillet is one of the few that had a build that could compare to arnold's from the front.  Wide frame, narrow waist, huge arms and calves.
Arnold himself said that he and Dillett had sloped shoulders.
Dillett also had a weak chest for his size and weight...it was big, but for a 6'1 dude, it could have been bigger

Agreed, his chest was pretty weak, and got that Titus-esque loose skin later in his career.

Paul Dillett training back. Even Charles Glass had to tell him to slow down his rep speed and squeeze and contract. He pulls down the bar in lat pulldowns real quick and with no squeezing. And t-bar rows are done with a fast pace and no contraction

If you notice, he is flexing his chest, and Nasser is not.
It seems that this "look" is usually when you are lacking bottom pec development relative to weight, but bodyfat is low. I could be wrong.

Dillet was also a little long waisted. In that shot where he is flexing his pecs, it tends to make his chest look not as full.

Early 90s Dillett, chest was there, back too mostly, conditioning also, decent muscle control, it's pretty evident that the ASC incident did more to him than people want to believe, regarding motivation and physique/mind damage... Put chronic asthma and shoulder surgeries in the mix, you should understand why before and post 1995 Dillett are two different bodybuilders...

actually imo dillet trumps arnold in that pose. dillet's back shots were horrific though  >:(

i read he put oil in his already over-powering rear delts?

Yes he did, probably the only spot he ever pinned with SEO as far as i know... Compare his back shots from 1993 and 1997 for example, a world of difference... He always had a good back with great insertions, monstrous lats, posing was the problem, and overpowering rear delts another, plus lack of details... In some ways i understand the pinning, his shoulders were a mess with surgeries and no cartilage anymore, but he made his BDB much much worse...

interesting... he definitely had the genetics to dominate the sport for a long time. shame really, wonder if the 'sport' would have gone in a different direction than it has now considering dillet was far more aesthetic compared to the bloofy messes of today

Dillett was very aesthetic, complete superhero physique, tall with unmatched structure and muscle bellies, and he had phemomenal lines, proportions and symmetry... Had everything going physique wise, in my opinion the greatest genetic freak, ever... Shame that he had a short prime, mostly from the start to his peak of 1993-1994, after the ASC debacle he was never the same... In 1995 he was at FIBO at 330lbs with tiny waist and visible abs, from another planet, but he didn't compete anywhere and started his journey with surgeries, then the decline...

paul is not flexing his legs in that pic so the comparison is not fair
