When have you ever heard of a CRIME VICTIM not speaking to the media for fear of jeopardizing the case? Criminals won't speak for fear of jeopardizing the case. Civil litigants won't speak for fear of accidentally saying something incriminating. When crime victims don't speak to the media, it's usually to maintain privacy. I've never heard of a crime victim who wanted to publicize their case not speaking because it might hurt the case.

I have no idea where to see the whole version of the video snippet in your link, but the trend of commentators only speaking about this as part of some sort of anti-feminist propaganda continues. None of these commentators who are so concerned can figure out a way to cover the story beyond that one angle?

And what should the feminists be doing or saying? Generally, stories that become causes are stories that evolve. If the guys were caught and almost certainly going to be prosecuted, what should the feminists be doing or saying? It's like when people ask "Where's Jesse and Al? "  when a white person is the victim of a crime.

Actually it's quite common for victims to not want to speak out. Especially for the serious crimes--rapes, murders, attempted murders, serious assaults. This is often due to fear of retaliation. And many women don't want to retell the rape over and over again, reliving the traumatic event.

Watch the whole vid, Tommy Sotomayor had said that there is a link underneath the vid in the description box where you can go see more of the interview.

Also, popula feminist blog sites like Jezebel will cover and talk about cases like these not when they have "evolved". One begins to think that these sites don't talk about it, is because she is a sex worker, and not just some random middle class white woman. So, in effect, their silence condones the act, not condemning it. Especially when they are so vocal about rapes, that turned out to be false (The Rolling Stones interview, etc). And that is hypocritical. Especially when you have the whole reason for the Slutwalk.

This. The feminist community is slut shaming by omission, which is immensely hypocritical.

YES, MAN! This is true! Which goes to what I have been saying about reputable media not identifying rape suspects. You said that Cytherea wasn't speaking to the media because it was an ongoing case and she was a witness, and that's why feminists should be publicizing this case. Now you are saying that it's possible that she's afraid of retaliation and reliving the pain of the event and THAT is why feminists should be publicizing this case. If she's afraid of retaliation and reliving the event, WHY WOULD ANY DECENT PERSON PUBLICIZE THIS CASE AGAINST HER WILL? How would that be helping her? It can't be both reasons.

The video says that there is a link in the description box, but the link takes you to a link of the Mercedes Carrera video. Obviously there's some video out there, but this just goes to show how hard it is to find any info from Cytherea herself about this case. If she wanted her side out there, she could have easily posted a vid up on her youtube channel. If she doesn't want her story out there, no reputable media and no decent person (feminist or otherwise) would make it political boilerplate without her consent.

That's exactly how any media outlet works, covering stories that have multiple angles and evolving issues. Do you remember any of the details of the alleged UVA rape case? The author of the story alleged that the school mishandled the investigation and none of the supsects were arrested after more than 3 years.  In the Cytherea case, suspects were apprehended in a matter of weeks with some solid evidence. They are different types of stories. The whole purpose of the UVA Rolling Stone story (even though it turned out to be false) was that the alleged victim wasn't getting justice. How is that the case if suspects are arrested and likely going to be convicted?

I never said that she wasn't. I said that "maybe she can't." I also said it was common for those who victims of violent crimes not to speak out on them, due to being a state's witness or for fear of retaliation. Also, There are certain things about cases that you don't want to get out into public, so that the defense can use.
Whatever her reasons for not going indepth, I have never flip flopped. Many of these feminist blogs will go crazy about rapes, male patriarchy, etc. Yet when it comes to this case, nothing...as was said, they seemingly condone it by their omission.

And so are you in a backdoor way trying to deny that this happened to her? Because that is what it seems like. Like someone saying "The top 10 Pro IFBB bodybuilders use Drugs", and another person saying, "Do you know that the top 10 Pro bodybuilders use drugs? Have you asked them? Do you know them personally?"
So, with the line of questioning and your line of thought, it seems that you are skeptical that this happened to Cytherea, unless she comes out and says, 3 men raped me" and then started to talk about it in detail.
You have a snippet of an interview, you have other female pornstars talking about it. And raising awareness of it. And you say that you can't find anything on it?
Huh, can't find anything on it?

Again, as you said that is the way the media is suppose to work. But, many times in this piss poor quality of reporting that is the mainstay of today's media, it doesn't happen like that. Media outlets want to the be first with the news, and that usually means not waiting for the correct info.
Also, maybe you need to take a look at many of the feminist blogs, like Jezebel. They recently had an article on about a recent rape, they go hard on it.

If the bloggers writing about her rape think it deserves attention, why aren't they talking/writing about it more? Why is their coverage limited to a misguided attempt to shame "feminists" into action?

http://downtrend.com/vsaxena/cytherea-raped-by-gang-of-teen-thugs

The three teens pictured above – 18-year-old Qumaire Rainey, 17-year-old Edward London and 16-year-old Casey Franks – raped Las Vegas resident and pornstar ‘Cytherea’ on January 19, reports News 3 KSNV:

The attacks and robbery began about 7:30 p.m. when four male teens kicked in the door of the home in the southwest Las Vegas Valley, grabbed a male victim, forced him to the floor and pointed a gun to his head. As some of the men began ransacking the house, another suspect held a knife to the victim’s throat.

Three of the teen thugs eventually made their way upstairs, where they found and raped ‘Cytherea.’ The rape stopped when the fourth teen, the apparent leader, found them raping her and told them to stop:

“This isn’t why we’re here. If you wanna get your rocks off, we can call one our bitches or hoes.” He then helped the woman off the floor and apologized.

However, after he left, one of the other three returned to rape ‘Cythera’ yet again.

One of the victims [then] called 911. Neighbors told officers they heard the suspects yelling that they had to leave because the police were on the way. They fled in a waiting car.

The teens went on to perform yet another home invasion. This time they stole a car that happened to have a tracker on it. The police subsequently used the victim’s iPhone locator to find the car and arrest the thugs.

The simple fact of the matter is that she HAS NOT gone in depth. She has not attempted to make her story widely known. Why do you keep trying to overlook the fact that reputable journalists don't reveal rape victims' identities and the details of their crimes without their cooperation or consent. You can twist it and turn it anyway you like and offer up 1000 different maybes that don't work together, but that's the simple truth. No reputable outlet identified her by name or profession.

No. In my last post, I quite clearly said that if she doesn't speak about it, no decent person is going to speak about it for her or identify her against her will. YOU are the one making the argument that this should be getting publicized, while at the same time claiming that she might not be talking because she's afraid of reliving the trauma or out of retaliation. The simple fact of the matter is that there is no conspiracy here, no matter how political you want to make it. This is how decent people treat rape victims. They allow them to heal at their own pace and share their story as they see fit. Even in the video clip you just posted (which took you awhile to find,), she does her best not to say rape or confirm any of the details of the night. This just underscores how little she has gone public with this.

So, let's look at the details of the story you just linked to:

1)Father rapes underage sister of his girfriend
2)Police pressure underage girl into filing charges then arrest her
3)Police arrest sister for obstruction of justice
4)Father gains custody of the son, despite a history of being accused of crimes ranging from murder to child molestation
5)Months after father gets custody, son is found dead in father's home

You really don't see how this is the type of story I described earlier?  ???  This fits everything I said in my last post.
