I know, I shock millennials showing them "Jeeves and Wooster." They have no idea of Hugh Laurie as anyone other than "House."
Pity they couldn't give Fry a recurring guest role. They were considering making him one as a doctor who was every bit as good as House, but was great with people on a personal level.
House never really grabbed me but I would have tuned in for that. I was never sure if the name of the show vaguely alluded to Wodehouse but I'm probably pushing it since my few viewings of it turned up no evidence.
I imagine the P.G. purists out there hate the TV adaption. It's what led me to the author though so I'm a fan. Fry's delivery as Jeeves still rings in my head when reading & I couldn't ask for a better butler.
As much as I like him I still haven't gotten through a lot of what Wodehouse wrote. Nice to have these things to look forward to.
