haha, funny you remember that ;D

I haven't taken a benzo for a couple years now, or any other gabaergic (pregabalin, baclofen) besides alcohol very intermittently. I do still have some issues with it if I get drunk say, but a drink or two seems to have no effect. I haven't really thought about it until you mentioned it so it must be a ton better, as it should be.

With that said I do use kava which may have a mild gabaergic effect, where it's lipophillic i am likely saturated with it most of the time which might be keeping it at bay.

The various gabaergics is what contributed to the PAWS in my opinion, i was hitting Gaba a and b receptors.

From a brief read on wikipedia it seems kava hits GABA A, inhibits norepinephrine and "possibly" dopamine reuptake and also MAOB.
Have you had any side effects?

None to speak of, definitely not as addictive, in fact there is data on it's anti-craving potential.

It's not nearly as strong

What about effects on liver, etc?

no concerns there, the data really doesn't bare out hepatotoxicity.

Most of the liver concerns are from toxins in the stems or from high content of FKB, neither are in noble kava's.

Had mine checked with no issue.

the withdraw from benzos is really really shitty, i felt i always had to have a benzo or ambien or pot to go to bed, quit that shit two years ago, now i take melatonin or advil pm if anything at all.
