I lived in LA for 6 years and had some work in the industry and my X has been there for the last 15 years as she still works in the production end of it. Now I've never seen the deepest bowels of the industry but I'll never forget meeting a friend of a friend at a party in the Hollywood hills. She was young (about 19), very pretty, loved cocaine, always talked about the "spirituality" of her inner artistic spirit and she had been trying to get steady work for the last two years. After talking with her for a while and finding out that she dabbled in the escort service end of the industry and porn (just pictures, so she said), I asked her how she felt about it. I'll never forget what she told me..."I was sleeping with so many casting agents that I thought after a while I might as well get paid for it."
