They cannibalized each other all night.  hilary's name only came up rarely.

Hillary Clinton won the third GOP debate. Here's why

Furthermore, the divisions in the Republican party remain strong and obvious. This is not a field that I expect to get that much smaller anytime soon.

It is therefore very clear that the longer this goes on the more Hillary Clinton is benefitted.

It follows that Clinton may have actually been the winner of the evening.

To an extent but guys like Rubio did go after her and he did well overall. I think at this point the RNC needs to step in and start tell the 2nd tier folks to stop. The attacks against each other this time around were not near as bad as in pervious debates. It started out like that but once Rubio and Bush went at it after the voting record question...rubio went after the panel and the rest followed suit. Its seemed like it was going to be another bash session but once Harwood confirmed he was a friggen shitbag they piled on.

the 2nd tier folks are a funny lot.  They're a lot more serious than the frontrunners.

I would prefer christie ANY DAY over trump or carson or fiornia, the gimmick candidates.
Rand, Huck, they're all actually dignified.  Carson makes up obvious lies on the spot, because his toothless base won't look it up.  Moderates WILL.  Swing voters WILL.

"I had no relationship with that company" was an outright obvious lie.  Now, the inbred farmers in iowa may not have curious minds to look it up, and they may not mind a liar, as long as he's of their religion... but soccer moms aren't going to accept "i have no relationship with that company" while he's on video with them for years, taking checks.

Disagree, like I've said if Obama has taught us anything it's that not being the center of attention is a good thing. They do need to narrow it down but with so many candidates they can't pick at just one like everyone knows they will
