Michael Mishko Bautista commenting on NPC Southern California contests vs. NPC Las Vegas contests

"I'm not surprised that the Jon Lindsay show is dropping numbers of athlete competing. These past year the Lindsay show has been average of 120-199 competitor each show. Whereas before like 2 or 3 years ago it was averaging 300-400 competitors. Today at the Las Vegas classic there's 367 athlete competing and they don't even have a pro show up here. And the Border states Jon Lindsay show which usually a big show has only 189 competitor. It's just sad how the numbers have fallen because people are tired of the politics that Lindsay production is putting up. Always giving his favorite team athlete the priority to win even though they don't deserve it.
Ok I'm done ranting. I'm Glad I got that out of my chest."

and the response is mixed

Michael Mishko Bautista: Up north in the Bay Area musclesports production is charging $100 and Las Vegas is charging $90 each class only Jon Lindsay charges $150.

Brock Bentson: Michael I am gonna call bullshit on this post. I have won my class virtually every time I have ever stepped on the MuscleContest stage and have never been on a team. Hell I won several shows long before my brother was a trainer even. Friends like Ifbb Pro Shaun Grimez-Garcia won the USA as a dark horse with no hype going into the show. Kelly Bautista won the USA twice without being on a team. It surprises me that the organization that gave you the chance to build a name and provided you a steady source of clients for your tanning and suits for years is now the subject of a negative post. You and I both know that bodybuilding is subjective but rarely have I seen a show won by someone who didn't earn it. I see so many posts now of people disrespecting the very entity that gave guys like you and me a place to take the hard work we put in the gym and test it against others on stage. Have there been shows with questionable judging..... Of course but this is true of all sports that have subjective judging. Over the 20 years I have been bodybuilding the people that scream about being screwed over politics 9 out of 10 times is NOT the best man on stage.

Ifbb Pro Shaun Grimez-Garcia: I agree Jon has always been a stand up guy. I know personally that he has done his best to remove people who only have their own interests at heart when it comes to judging. He respects every competitor that does his show I am living proof of that.

Michael Mishko Bautista: Brock Bentson you are not listening to what other trainer are saying. And they see this happening worse the past year. I know Coz I deal with the coaches all the time and they are sending all their athlete not to Jon Lindsay show anymore hence the drop of attendance in athlete competing. I'm not bashing his name. I'm actually sad that it's going down. This is not a negative post. It's actually the truth.

People have accused the Lindsay shows of being unfair for years and when Lee Thompson said it people were texting each other saying, "See we knew something was up."  That and like this article says, too expensive.

DROVE, I don't have the California attendance figures to disprove much of what you state above but I believe you to be incorrect if some respects.

I've known Jon for many years now and can honestly state that he is great individual and would never 'interfere' or have any influence on any judging outcome.

He has proven to be a damn good promoter with contestant numbers of 700+ in the USA Championships held in LV each year and is in the process of promoting numerous contests here in Vegas (in addition to the annual USA Championships) with the help and assistance of the State NPC Chairman - Steve Karr.

I don't know the numbers of contest competitors within the state of California, but YES the numbers of competitors within Las Vegas is increasing.

This increase is simply due to the efforts of Steve Karr and Jon Lindsay.

You will be hearing numerous accusations directed towards most everyone involved within NPC/IFBB promotions simply due to the start-up of a new federation which appears to be riding on the coat-tails of the success of the NPC/IFBB.

Competition is always good for one and all, but accusations of any sort seem to be of the most interest and the preferred  way of doing business in this present age.

Don't believe everything you think you hear over the next few months.

One last comment ..... Most every bodybuilding contestant who has ever
lost a contest since the very first event ... make complaints about his failure of not winning.

In my days the standard complaint was ... "It was fixed!!" or "It was political!".

And since there are more contestants who fail to WIN, it simply adds more fuel to the "political/fixed" bon-fire.

I've been around a while and have yet to hear a winner complain.

One winner's  voice is just too quiet and is seldom heard above the roar of those who fail to win the title.

I will say that his shows had better contestants and were known to attract higher levels of competitors. I don't know but I do know people complained about the teams sponsoring the shows but that wasn't Lindsay productions

Deshaun Grimez de Garcia=Wasted potential. Had a Flex Wheeler-sque physique, but seemed like he didn't want to put the effort in
