Because positive speeches are a "dime a dozen" these days. Everyone has a platform. Everyone has a story of "overcoming." Thus, everyone has to give a motivational speech. There are far more people who have achieved greater things and faced greater odds than Phil Cheath. Now, I guess one can say that he is still successful. Unfortunately, for someone like Phil, SO much of his success is wrapped up in drug use. Its hard to separate true hard work from just having a great response to drugs.

I can honestly say that I have never ever seen someone deliver a motivational speech in a thong.  He didn't seem the least bit uncomfortable either.  ??? ??? ???

I would have been uncomfortable and embarrassed watching it so I'm impressed.
