what makes you guys think PWO meal is important?  just how good it makes you feel?

i know when im hypo after a long cycling session, eating feels like the best thing in the world.  had i eaten more and kept stable blood sugar, the pwo meal wouldn't feel special.



PostWOrkoutMeal? Why it is so important? Just because it feels good? Ok. Sounds reasonable in this environment, where half of the growd thinks that moon landing was fake. In the real world, when I look how the bodybuilders in the gym are sitting in the lounge and eating plain tuna and rice from a plastic container, they do it just because it feels good? Or could it have something to do with the fact, that you have drain your energy resources to the max at the workout, and they try to fill those resources, so their body would have even a slight change to build some muscles? Relation of protein and muscle tissue is scientific fact, and the need for nutrients is biggest right after the workout, so there is obvious reasons for the PWO.

How about the PWO cigarette? How many of you guys do that? Arnie was defending his cigars in one interview by saying, that nicotine benefits the muscle growth, and there were lot of simple minded bodybuilders to follow his lead, and smoking cigarettes. Well, there is a slight difference between cigar and cigarette, because you do not inhale the cigar smoke. So there is heard of bodybuilders smoking PWO cigarettes filling their bloodstream with carbon monoxide instead of oxygen after the workout. Can you guess which is more important to the muscle, an oxygen or carbon monoxide?    ;D

no to measuring, don't really care.

and no to full keto....i walk around single digit body fat year round now, this diet allows me to live a great life,  and stay lean year round with tons of energy, but still allows me to eat my favorite food on the weekends or go out and have some drinks if i feel like. And when i mean eat my favorite food, I'm talking epic gluttonous cheat meals.

They DO make the most hardcore Aminos (at least they did back in the day), and AT LEAST they were legit...
Now so many Amino drinks around they're probably stronger too!!
P.S.  This is the FIRST stuff I ever bought by mail back in the day, their glandular supp- it worked too!!!
I remember in one month adding 40lb to my bench, where it NEVER budged for months before that (my face got greasy as hell, and my back started getting pimples!!).

Sounds interesting.  Can't say I've ever actually seen someone eat tuna and rice after a workout.  Would love to see the source of your 'scientific facts'.

Many years ago I actually read about a drug company patenting nicotine as an anabolic drug. I tried searching for the reference but couldn't find it. But I specifically remember that one proposed mechanism was growth of new blood vessels.

Robby Robinson advocated yohimbe claiming it raises testosterone, but from what I've read I'm too scared to try it.

Tuna = cheap protein source in this country. Let rephrase the sentence to the more understandable form: the bodybuilders in the gym are sitting in the lounge and eating what ever cheap protein source and rice from a plastic container.

Well, while I try to find some scientific facts you would understand, I find a new study which reveals the secret: You need PWO meal IF you are working out twice a day, if you are dieting and training, or training very hard,  just to get your glycogen resources filled as fast as possible. all studies refer to performance increases during "SUBSEQUENT EXERCISE" after the first bout of exercise.

do you train 2 times within 4 hours?  ::)


exercise does have some beneficial short term effects that potentially could increase the importance of the PWO-meal, however the studies you posted have a completely different point

the main benefits of heavy exercise are glut4 translocation, resulting in more carbs of your PWO meal ending up in your muscles and less in fat tissue.
however its controversial how long these effects actually last, therefore making the debate about PWO meals pointless again.
