I do not believe that being a drug abuser is good thing. It does not logically follow that it bothers me that they engage in such activity.

It is correct that I am advocating a balanced view of success. You are the one who is placing a higher value on wealth than other measures, to the point where you are holding up drug abusers and charlatans as people Americans should revere, simply because they have material wealth.

I can assure you, I am not jealous other people's wealth. To infer such, based on the fact that I dislike DT's taste in interior design, DLB's misrepresentation of her achievements, or Bostin's drug dealing, is more a product of your desire for this to be true. Not a lot I can do about that.

I wouldn't try and give you a tale of suffering, I do not have one.

Spot on.

Of course having material possessions and wealth is nice. However, I would never lead the life of Bostin Loyd to achieve such success. If I could be wealthy  without being a drug abuser and charlatan, then that is fine. But I could never ever envision myself stooping to the likes of Bostin Loyd to make the money he makes (or DLB). There are many people who would rather have less money than Bostin because they do not want to lead his lifestyle. Its a specific lifestyle, and not one I am willing to engage in just to make money.

Its really all about a continuum. Who wouldn't want to be as rich as Bill Gates? Most everyone would. Shit, Id love to be extremely wealthy. Thus, I am not necessarily saying that my value system is inherently void of material wealth or possession (because its not). What I am saying is that my value system includes also leading a decent and honest life, thus not being able to do what Bostin Loyd does just to make money. Bostin has no shame. Its all material possessions.

Its dumb to create a strict dichotomy between material possession/wealth and honesty/integrity. Some people have no honesty/integrity and will care all about the wealth/material possessions, even at the expense of others. I like to think I am more in the "middle," so to speak.

When it was thought that the Steinbrenners might sell the Yankees, he was my number two choice to buy, after Mark Cuban.

Your bias and veracity is clearly evident in your post. Despite my making no bones about my wealth, always making clear in the over ten years on this board, and on this thread, that I am far from rich, often struggle to meet the bills and have never been involved in investing or any money making endeavors. I wish I had but pursuing wealth was never my thing. Yet you term me as "the one who is placing a higher value on wealth than other measures".

And though I made crystal clear that I am not a fan of either Lloyd or DLD I am now "holding up drug abusers and charlatans as people Americans should revere".

How is it that DLB misrepresents her achievements? What evidence do you have that Bostin is a drug dealer? There is someone on this board that is friends with his father and knows a bit more about Bostin irl than you do. And the fact is he has built a very successful business doing what he loves. As does DLB.

I defend successful people that are bashed by those, such as you, who will never reach their level of success. So you dismiss it. It's not easy getting rich and richer. Look how you've failed. There is nothing that Trump can decorate his penthouse with that people like you would criticize and attempt to diminish.

Like I said, we use to applaud success and achievement, now due to being brainwashed by class envy people like you resent other's achievements and are jealous of it and because they will never have it they simply denigrate it and try to diminish it's value and importance. You can deny it all you want but it is the truth. You're a nobody, wish you were a somebody, and because you will never be you simply try to convince yourself and others that it doesn't matter.

Explains the "10 pints".

QFT. Financial stability is important to most, but "material wealth" is not the end-all/be-all/ deciding factor for everyone. Ralph Fiennes will likely never have the box-office clout and earning power that Adam Sandler has had, but how likely is it that Fiennes would want to trade careers?

The penthouse is strangely decorated, regardless of what it costs. Just because something is out of someone's price range does not mean that it is too high-class to be judged. There are many multi-million dollar homes that look good. I posted the pics because it was surprising that such an expensive home could look so shitty. I posted a thread about Michael Jordan's house awhile ago, and even though I admire the man and defended him in several posts in that thread, I didn't think it was a good-looking house. Had nothing to do with jealousy or trying to dismiss his accomplishments.

There was a show, I think it was called "Cribs" that feature homes of the rich and famous. Showing homes of the rich and famous is so common now. In magazines, internet... it's all over the place.

Let me ask you, have you ever seen a mansion owned and furnished by someone filthy rich that met your approval? If so, please name that person.

Since you considered Jordan's house as "not good looking" could you post a pic of your house so we can have an idea of your taste and what you consider good looking?

I could take photos of my parents' house and you would see 10 times the class you see there. Tasteful furniture, spacious, co-ordinated layout. Woods, marble, nice paint colours. Not gold and fucking more gold leaf everywhere like King Midas came to visit. Getting my Kitchen, laundry room and bathroom done at the moment and even though it is where I will cook, clean and shit it will still look better than Trump's middle eastern palace looking penthouse.

I can't help but think these personal attacks are representative of some deeper issue within you. It appears the irony of your argument is lost on you. You accuse me of bashing others for having wealth, and for being jealous of their success, without knowing them. When, at the same time you are bashing me for being a "failure" and a "nobody" without knowing the slightest bit about my situation.

If i were financially successful, to a level that you deem fit, would my worldview suddenly become valid? Would my opinion hold more weight with you? Would you "defend" me because of my success?

Given your allusion to a period of tribulation in your life, I would have hoped for a more encompassing worldview. However, it appears that your historical lack of financial stability has, understandably, led you to value this above other measures of success. Fortunately for me, I have no such hang ups, as my past is resplendent with all the trimmings of a privileged upbringing.

The difference in our positions is that: I can understand why you hold yours, and I do not slide into personal attacks on you because of it.

Rather than spin our wheels, around the same positions, I will respectfully bow out at this juncture.

God, your a moron. You really are. You really, really don't see the difference? What if a fat person starts giving you tips on losing weight?

It's one thing to say that you don't care for Trumps decor. Not my thing either. Just like I don't get poetry, I don't get a $500 bottle of wine or why a painting fetches millions. Maybe there's something, a sophistication lacking in me that I would prefer a chocolate shake from McDonald's than Champage. But I never question and judge the person's taste unless I feel I have better taste. I'm not on the same level (whether it's higher or lower is subjective) as a Trump or a Hilton.

You think he has bad taste? Then presumably you know what good taste is. That you can pass judgement on what other people have. Show me what your living looks like which I assume you decorate according to your superior taste.
