you would think that more top bodybuilders would do this just on the off chance that it became a big tier one show.  unlikely yes, but 20 years from now if it was like the Arnold, it would be something to be the inaugural champ.

This show is very well produced and I heard it was well run but it is just too late in the season. A lot of the pros have either gone into offseason mode or they started dieting for the Arnold. This show could become a big deal but they need to move it to a different time

My guys have arrived there, Luke Schembri doing his first pro show outside of Australia and Josh Lenartowicz coming of his win at the San Marino Pro this past weekend.

Here is a shot of Josh backstage at San Marino. He will be even better this weekend.

A great opportunity for Tony Freeman to win a pro show at  47 years of age ....

Wonder why he's not doing the "Louie"

He is doing Kevin Levrone's show in Poland

Tony Doherty, do you feel it is at all appropriate for bodybuilding judges to be receiving hundreds of dollars a week from the same competitors they will be judging? For example, coaching...

If you where running a federation would that be something you would allow?

Too early to make an accurate forecast but I think that is the type of physique the judges will be looking for in the not too distant future.

And the 'not too distant future' would be best for one and all if it started this coming weekend in Palm Springs, Califortnia.

By the way, if you attend this contest in this casino, you will have to pay for your alcoholic beverages if you enjoy a cocktail or two while losing your money at the tables.

It's a lot more different than LV.

That is so lame! Bodybuilding shows are definitely more fun when you're buzzed. Maybe that's the only way to enjoy them!!

I watched the live stream last year because I knew several competing. I have no interest in watching this year but I will say I thought their webcast was better than last year's Olympia webcast! Very well done and excellent production.

For the most part judges are rotated when a spouse, relation or coached athlete is in that class. Having said that, sometimes there are not enough judges at the event to make it possible, especially with smaller shows.

The answer to any questions regarding the judging of a bodybuilding contest should start with an explanation of exactly how the results are computed.

The judging system used today and for the past fifty or so years allows any attempt of a judge who is somehow related to a contestant and decides to show that contestant any form of favoritism to be very evident when the judging sheets are collected and tabulated.

(Without further explanation due to time restrictions ... High and Low scores are disgarded. )

Due to 'other stuff to do' this morning I'll let someone else  explain the procedure, but I will say that there have been many attempts to make the 'procedure' better, but none have been as successful as the present method of 'contest result computation' ..... even if a good friend of a contestant is sitting in as an official judge.

I have been around for a good number of years now and I will say that it is extremely rare if a situation should arise in which a judge related to a contestant will be allowed to sit is as a official judge for that particular class, but any possible  favoritism will be shown during the tabulation process.

Maybe Tony will have time to elaborate how this judging procedure works ... or possibly another individual who has years of experience at the judging table.

Individual have attempted to improve it but none have been successful.

I'll do my best to explain this procedure if no one jumps in to do so after I rob the casino this afternoon at the Craps table.

Wish me luck!
