I took a look at it, and it looks like the advantage is phone calls/texts over wifi which seamlessly switches to LTE/3G/etc when out of wifi range. It also integrates all your mobile/internet connected devices so you can call and text from anywhere, not just your phone. And if you don't have a data plan you can add 1GB for $10 without a contract at any time. Honestly, not as cool as I thought...
Text/talk over wifi is useless for people who have unlimited calling/texting, and these days almost all plans offer unlimited calling within Canada (or the US for people in the US).
The only cool thing that caught my eye about this is integrating your phone number with any device that connects to the internet and can have Hangouts installed on it. But, I already have that for free... Sure, my phone number isn't integrated with Google Hangouts, but I can call anywhere in the US or Canada for free using hangouts, it just shows a NJ number instead of my Canadian number when I do. All this can be done over wifi or LTE already, and I've never tried, but I assume if you're out of wifi range it will seamlessly switch you over to LTE.

I just noticed the part about connecting to multiple towers for a faster network, which is kinda cool I guess... But not something that's cool enough for me to get excited about.
