the thing is if they make money then you can't blame them for making that money because as much of a con game that being a personal training is, it's still a rough business to make a living at...it will take you a while till you can make a living from it

I'm surprised no one has done this yet in this day of social media branding.  You can set up a whole program where you as the top guy (like OHearn) expand your brand and keep a loyal core of followers this way.  Then every six months you sell some national cruise or seminar or pilgrimage to the Mecca to learn "the new techniques" and all the trainers have to go along with clients and you get to wet your beak on it all!

The blame goes first and foremost to anyone who tells lies to get you to buy something.  Let the buyer beware is no excuse morally for telling lies to rip someone off.  You cannot conflate business with anything involving a moral compass.
