This Republican debate is stellar
« on: January 28, 2016, 06:43:51 PM »
Great answers all around.  Rubio is shinking.  Christie is solid.  Cruz is a little petty but doing a fine job.  Rand is terrific.

It's almost like some super negative liberal force, intent on doing nothing but wreck the GOP, isn't a part of things tonight.

Cruz has faded tonight.  Rubio finally looking presidential.  Jeb getting big applause.

I think Rubio is going to be declared the winner tonight.

Is Ben Carson even here?   LOL dude is hiding.

It is frankly amazing what can be accomplished when Trump is removed from the mix. The American people are finally able to see how these viable candidates propose to deal with the issues we face. There is hope for the Republican party after all.

I hope Trump is politically dead after tonight's debate.

Why can't they talk about the issues when trump is there?

Wasn't thrilled with Cruz.  He got a lot of BS questions that allowed the rest to either attack or hit back at him directly. Rubio did ok....Kasich did ok as well.

Good question, to which I have no answer. Perhaps they did and I didn't notice because Trump was center stage making all those funny faces and spewing outrageous remarks.

Wasn't thrilled with Cruz.

cruz is much better as the underdog.  and it was pretty much the Rubio Promotion Show last night.  Cruz is used to getting 1/4 of the hate while Trump endures 3/4 of it.  Cruz is an incredible debater, but like he said, they weren't debating issues (as he did as the debate national champion).   FOX was pretty much just doing a "here is some ammo to attack Cruz, Sen Rubio, pile on..."   Which is fine, but it's not a debate, it's an inquisition.   The FOX host was incorrect calling it a debate, because debates are about issues - not about "pointing out mistakes you made in the past".

The debate was a bit too bland for my tastes.
