People love this guy so much and I've never been able to get into his comedy. He's probably the most respected stand-up to come up in the last decade, but I didn't find his show funny or his talk show appearances funny. During the storm last weekend, we watched a few diff comedy specials on Netflix: Chelsea Peretti, John Mulaney, Aziz Ansari, Louis and Mike Epps. CK's was the least enjoyable to me.

Is the hype lost on anybody else? Or maybe you're a fan and want to share some particularly funny things he said. Louis is probably concerned that I am not a fan.

I feel the same way.  I love his show, but even that I don't think is particularly funny.  It's more of a bummer than anything but it's realism is what I like.

He talks about lots of real life stuff and puts a funny spin on it. I've only seen a big of his stuff, would watch more.

Funnier than that unfunny Tim Allen, man he sucks.

Stopped watching at 1.10 first video. If you want to try shock comedy don't espouse social norms and use socially unavceptable  words and call it comedy. Attack people you pussy.saying homo doesn't make you a rebel. He is a politician's wet dream. Say something awkward yet not universally accepted and use a bad word and make yourself seem like a badboy renegade who will fix the world.

Not that I care if anyone likes him, all this stuff is subjective, but to admit to watching one minute of a video and than assuming you know enough to make an informed comment on him is disingenuous.

I like a bunch of comics - hicks, burr, ck.   But if I stopped watching one minute into a routine of a bit that didn't happen resonate with me, I might not like any of them.

Is he really? Like I said in the opening post, I watched his special along with a bunch of other specials, and towards the end of our marathon I was getting sort of analytical about what makes a good comedian/ comedy special. I think he and Ansari have the same style  where they kind of make comedic observations but they don't really add any unique insight. He didn't really say anything that you couldn't imagine a moderately funny blogger saying.  I felt like Mulaney's special was the best in that he would make an observation, then make the obvious humorous observation, THEN make completely unexpected observations.
