Do these cyclists get paid well upon winning a race?

Do they have sponsors that make them rich upon getting first place?

I'm trying to figure out the logic as to why some seem so intent on cheating. I mean, I am not into that sport, but aside from Armstrong, I couldn't name any other cyclist ever.

At her level they are not paid, maybe a stipend... even worse this was a cyclecross event... there is no money there

Sponsors provide the bikes, kit (clothes) and nutrition..  Most female teams at this level operate on a 300K or less budget.  The top ladies on the female world tour teams are paid probably under 150K

Only the men on the World Tour teams actually make any meaningfull money

Peter Sagan (Team Tinkov) makes 5+ mill, Mark Cavendish, Alberto Contador and Chris Froome (Team Sky) are probably in that ball park already

Most of the female pros barely earn enough to get by. Most Division 1 male pros(Road Racing) earn anywhere from 30k-300k+ per year. The big money earnings usually are with individual sponsorships/endorsements.

I think in her case(and her brother's), they're the victim of a little-league dad syndrome.

As someone who cycles, I find her claim that it was her friends bike laughable.  Her nor her mechanic didn't notice it wasn't her bike?  Every aspect of the fit is tailored to the specific rider (Stem, Pedals, Saddle height, Crank length, Bar width etc)   And this bike which supposedly belongs to her friend somehow gets mistakenly added to the Teams bikes in the pro peloton?   And if this was a friends bike and not hers, then why did this friend not notice his bike missing? Hilarious.  Also, this mod would be very elaborate and expensive in order to have everything hidden within the frame making it practically indistinguishable from a normal bike.  Certainly nothing some "friend" would do just for shits and giggles.    It's like when you were a teenager and your parents found your baggy of weed in your jacket pocket, and you tell them "It's not mine, it's my friends".

It is a shame that Lance had Lemond cycles destroyed.  They were a very good company with European geometry coupled with Trek's OCLV.

the french were mad that an american was owning them in "their" sport. Not saying what he did was right, but i bet they all cheat.
That being said,I think owning a motorized mountain bicycle would be sweet  ;D

Thank you....That is some serious cleverness....

Edit:...A suggested refinement...have the motor become a generator so on the downhill you can recharge the battery some...

Her bike sponsor is suing her.  Her career is over as far as sponsorship.

This reminds me of all of those times sports trainers secretly replace athletes' supplements and B-12 injections with steroids. The madness must stop! These poor athletes are having their reputations destroyed before our own eyes!!

The new "supplement" they took that made then run faster, jump higher, stronger that they never asked any questions about.
