Slicing and Dicing
The removal of visceral fat is not a cosmetic procedure like liposuction to help you look better in a bathing suit. Instead, the new surgery – done laparoscopically – removes visceral fat ...

He describes the surgery this way:
First, four small holes – about one-third of an inch – are made in the abdomen. The abdomen cavity is then inflated, giving Dr. Mun room in which to maneuver an internal, miniaturized camera and cutting tools, which are inserted through those holes. He detaches the yellow, visceral fat from adjacent organs – the stomach and the colon – then cuts it into small strips, which can be pulled up through the holes.
