Does anyone use Kodi ?
« on: March 10, 2016, 08:22:37 AM »
What do you do to watch movies aside from netflix ?

I have kodi installed on an amazon fire stick and its how I watch 'better call saul' new episodes for free, also watching '11.22.63' and it has movies on it as well, I watched 'teh revenant' mid december

is there an optimal set-up or "ad-on" for it?  I use 1-channel the most and updated to v16.0

I stopped doing the bit torrents to watch movies because it gives my computer the AIDs

I use it, can't beat it. Exodus is really good especially for new movies and series with many HD links. 123movies also has a fair amount of series but both that and 9movies are great for new and old films. I have about 10 addons  installed overall but mainly use the ones I mentioned.

I used to have an alienware alpha. It comes with an alienware modified version of Kodi. You can used plex to get into you media server or other computer.
What channels do you want? have you looked into sling tv? Another way that is a little shady, is if you have a friend with cable, you can ask them for their their log info.

i exclusively use kodi for all tv and movie needs i dont even have cable. i bought a box on amazon for around $50 that i feel is better geared for kodi than the fire stick.

I'd love to know how to get Kodi to work - downloaded the software for my PC and it didn't seem very user-friendly - I'm not a technophobe in the slightest but I couldn't figure out how to get all the free TV channels, movies etc - it just seemed to want to access my hard-drive where I keep all my current media.

Any help appreciated - any good links that shows you how to set it all up?

Yeah I hear that firestick sucks. Imo your money is better spend on a roku or new Apple TV.  Use that raspberry pi for retropie.

Once you download the software you need to install repositories which contain the movie and TV series addons. I installed fusion, you can do this by following instructions on YouTube.

Kodi is okay but honestly, imo most of the stuff doesn't look that great, ratio aspects are whacked, grainy. Frequent buffering issues.  Many movies are hit and miss to load. Lots of time spent just navigating around . I've had the android box for a year and have already had to reset the whole thing twice because of some major glitch.

I haven't had Genesis work for quite some time.
