Hype. All you need to do (with any/all nutrients) is to consume enough to avoid a deficiency. If you are not deficient, taking a lot of it will do nothing for you.
It's idiotic to take single micro-nutrients at high doses like that. Who takes 30 mg+ zinc/day is probably running into an iron or copper deficiency, as they're competing for the same enzymes in your body.The human body is a pretty sophisticated system, with every single pill you pop you're interfering the balance of your body.
