I don't understand the hype over Brock when it comes to MMA..

this is one of those situations were a crowd gathers and I can't understand why, there is nothing to see, but people still gather because others are gathering.

is the MMA that devoid of top caliber fighters?

I think price fighting and making odd fights is very entertaining.

I don't find any interest in basketball, yet the top players are making 8 figures. I can not understand that. Or NFL or ice hockey... yawn..

I can understand your view point other not being into other sports ... but my questions are more about Brock.. I don't see the excitement level matching his skills.

a 38y/o fighter that has 5 wins and 3 losses  ( http://www.sherdog.com/fighter/Brock-Lesnar-17522#! )

why are we even talking about him in terms of MMA?

You already know, the only reason this match up is interesting is because he's "brock lesnar", everyone knows him. To see him in real fights makes it very interesting and draws a big crowd = lots of money. But I agree that his mma skills are mediocre and he's very bad at taking punishment, yet his public status will grant him a spot in ufc, which is fine by me, more popcorn material.
