Been considering Wescos/Nicks/Whites but haven't owned them so can't comment.
Currently wear Rocky S2V. Ups: Very comfy, very light. Downs: Not a durable sole. Simply too soft for building site slabs and wears away fast. It's Vibram, and they had to choose between grip vs durability but I'd prefer more durability. I can't get quite 2 warm seasons from a pair, so about 12 months life expectancy, which is questionable economy given their price. Damn, damn comfortable tho.
Can't recommend S2V insulated winter boots with goretex. Yes, very comfy again but insulation is insufficient for temps even above freezing imo. Waterproof when they arrived but no longer. I don't believe in goretex anymore after a lifetime of seeing the shit not perform. It's just too delicate to last.
Socks: I'm sold on merino wool. Haven't had a touch of tinnea since switching over. Never ever going back to cotton socks.
